Hi, I'm Caterina.
I'm the researcher, writer, and recovering over-achiever behind Happy Healing Girl. I started this site because I was exhausted, anxious, and told by multiple doctors that my labs were "normal."
They weren't wrong — but they weren't asking the right questions. I went looking for the right questions myself, and what I found changed everything.

100K+ Women
across all platforms

The Story Behind the Site
For years, I was the woman who had everything "under control" on the outside while quietly falling apart on the inside. Chronic fatigue that no amount of sleep fixed. Anxiety that arrived without warning. A midsection that seemed to expand no matter what I ate. PMS that had graduated into something that felt more like a monthly crisis.
My bloodwork was always "within normal range." My thyroid was "fine." My iron was "acceptable." I was told I was stressed and perhaps needed to exercise more. I tried that. It made things worse.
So I started reading. Obsessively. I worked through the research on magnesium deficiency, the gut-hormone connection, cortisol's role in belly fat, and the difference between the 14 forms of magnesium. I became, in the words of my friends, "annoyingly knowledgeable about supplements."
Happy Healing Girl was born out of the frustration that this information — which genuinely changed my life — was scattered across academic journals, obscure podcasts, and functional medicine blogs that assumed you already had a PhD. I wanted to make it accessible, practical, and honest.
The Journey So Far
From personal crisis to a community of 100,000+ women.
Started researching hormonal health after years of unexplained fatigue and anxiety that conventional medicine couldn't explain.
Discovered the gut-hormone connection and began experimenting with targeted nutrition, adaptogens, and magnesium supplementation.
Launched the Happy Healing Girl blog to document what was actually working — and what wasn't.
Grew to 50,000 monthly readers. Started the newsletter to share deeper dives and supplement reviews directly with the community.
Expanded into video content on TikTok and YouTube, making complex hormonal science accessible and practical for everyday women.
Reached 100,000+ women across all platforms. Continued to deepen the research and expand the blog's coverage of perimenopause, PCOS, and gut health.
What I Stand For
These aren't just values I list on a page. They're the principles that shape every article, recommendation, and conversation on this site.
Research-Backed, Always
Every recommendation on this site is grounded in peer-reviewed research and clinical evidence. I cite my sources, explain the mechanisms, and never recommend something just because it's trending.
Honest About Affiliates
Some links on this site are affiliate links. I only recommend products I have personally used and genuinely believe in. A small commission helps keep this resource free — and I will always tell you when a link is affiliate.
Root Causes, Not Band-Aids
I am not interested in masking symptoms. I want to help you understand why your body is doing what it's doing — and give you the tools to address the actual root cause, not just suppress the signal.
Community Over Competition
Women's health is not a niche — it's a necessity. I believe in building a community where women share what's working, ask hard questions, and support each other through the messy, non-linear process of healing.
You Are Not Broken
The symptoms you're experiencing are not character flaws or signs of weakness. They are your body communicating. My job is to help you learn the language — and respond with compassion and strategy.
Not Medical Advice
I am a wellness writer and researcher, not a licensed medical practitioner. Everything here is educational. Please work with a qualified healthcare provider for personalised medical guidance — especially before starting new supplements.
An Important Note
I am a wellness writer and researcher, not a licensed medical practitioner, registered dietitian, or pharmacist. Everything on this site is for educational and informational purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Please work with a qualified healthcare provider before making changes to your supplement routine, especially if you have a diagnosed condition, are pregnant, or are taking medications. I want you to get better — and that means working with the right people, not just reading a blog.
